There are people in this world that are inherently good. They do things like make you feel welcome the instant you meet them. They work hard and are guided by good values. They leave their place in the world better than when they arrived. They bring a warm, calming happiness to those around them. They’re the kind of people that others want to be around. They probably rescue baby kittens in their spare time too. This is the kind of person that Jen is. And her husband. It’s no doubt that they were drawn to each other. I’ve only met the two of them a few times, but I think they’re both really just all around good people.
So it’s no surprise that when Jen was expecting her second child that her friends wanted to treat her to something special. As part of a gift from all of them, they presented her with gift certificates for maternity and newborn portrait sessions as a way to remember this special time in their growing family.
I met up with Jen the other week and she told me that baby’s gender will be a surprise to them, just like with their first child. They have a fun way of saying that they’re “adding to their fruit basket”, so they’ve taken to calling their impending little one by “kiwi”. I think that’s such an adorable idea! Here are some of my favorite images from our afternoon together:
