Stone Mansion wedding Alexandria Virginia
Whether she knew it or not, Kate let out a happy sign when had finished zipping up her dress and sliding on her heels. She was about to go see Spencer for the first time on their wedding day. A day that in reality was the culmination of planning about three different weddings.
Because before getting to this day, Kate and Spencer had their original venue cancel on them. Every one of their vendors except two (including me!) had changed at least once. Invitations had to be reprinted before sending again with new information. To say it was an uphill battle would be an understatement. Even on the wedding day itself, one last challenge – rain – forced their ceremony indoors. But the silver lining in all of this is that these two ended up with a more relaxed wedding that was much more intimate, more personal, and more of a reflection of who they really are anyway. Worries of what they “should” do were gone and instead it was a home-styled feeling of a really good celebration.
I’m so happy I was able to be part of the calm of their storm and was able to capture how special this day was to both of them. Enjoy some of the highlights from Kate and Spencer’s wedding!
