Richmond Virginia Mankin Mansion wedding photographer
Being a photographer, I’m always looking for inspiration. New ways to be creative. And different ways of seeing things. I read magazines, watch movies, and of course look at how other photographers see the same places and scenarios that I encounter too.
One of the photographers I look to is Katelyn James. I love the way she brings out fun and emotion in her clients, not to mention the variety of poses that she’s able to accomplish with two people. It mirrors my idea that a wedding day should showcase the love and connection between a couple and show that they are celebrating their new union on their happiest of days. So when she announced that she was hosting another workshop, I was ready to hear about how she accomplishes it all.
We met up at Mankin Mansion in Richmond, Virginia to first learn about the business side of running a photography business. But then it was time to brave the cold February weather and have some fun with our cameras! It’s one thing to hear about how someone shoots, but it’s another thing entirely to see it in action!
I’m really happy with how these images turned out because, to me, they ARE about happiness and that loving connection between two people. Because our shoot was right around Valentine’s Day, it was definitely an appropriate theme to play out with fun colors and props to bring it all to life!
