I love it when couples do things different. When it’s something I’ve never seen ANY couple do before, that’s the best! (Especially when it’s things I would totally do myself if I ever redid my own wedding!)
Lauren and Thad decided to start the party early for their wedding and welcome guests with pre-ceremony cocktail hour. They had taken all their photos already with family and the wedding party, and they wanted to spend as much time celebrating and enjoying the day with their loved ones as possible. The only little hiccup was that it started raining – no, monsooning – right as guests started to arrive. So cocktail hour and the ceremony were moved inside, but what they did next was the super awesome part.
Being the modern couple that they are and knowing that they were both entering into their new marriage as partners, they decided to walk down the aisle and enter the ceremony together. It’s a simple act really, but a change from what’s “typical” or “expected” at a wedding. I, personally, think it’s incredibly amazing and kind of wish more couples would do this. Like I said, if I ever renewed my vows or had to redo my wedding, I’m absolutely doing the same thing!
So despite the rain, Lauren and Thad had an elegant, Southern, preppy wedding at the Harvest House at Lost Creek Winery. Enjoy some of the highlights from their day!
